TAETEA ASEAN Institute for Tourism and Culture Studies was initiated by a ground of well-known experts in Yunnan, a province boasting its tourist resources and ethnic culture. In the support of the Taetea Group, the Academy comprises elites and talents from all sectors of society. It has become the platform for China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Forum, and a modern research institute that provides solutions to trans-boundary development issues as well as proposing ideas and plans for regional economic constructions.

Mr. Wu Yuanzhi, honorary president of the Academy and president of the Taetea Group, delivered a speech during the opening ceremony, he said such a platform aimed at coordinating expert and scholar resource home and abroad, and founding a high-level think tank in the fields of culture and tourism. The founding of the Academy is another development strategy for the Taetea Group to seek development and cooperation in Yunnan.

Dan Zeng also expressed his opinion that culture should become the pillar industry with confidence. Yunnan had abundant resources and profound potentials for building tourism culture. However, tourism culture was less developed in Yunnan currently, that’s why resource integration between economy, information and culture should become the top priority. The founding of the Academy would undoubtedly play an important role in promoting development of Taetea and Yunnan in the background of the New Normal.

Mr. Li Chengzhu, the principal researcher and planner of the Forum also raised the idea of regional development as the characteristics of Yunnan, only when Yunnan finds its own development mode of tourism culture can such development become long and sustainable.

During the opening ceremony and the conference thereafter, experts and scholars had in-depth discussion on how to develop tourism culture in Yunnan and how to build the brand of the Academy.
